At Leighton, we believe that children are a gift from God.
We also believe that children should feel safe and protected while they are at church. That is why each person who is involved in Children’s Ministry attends a child protection class and undergoes a thorough background check. Children are an important part of our church family. Check out the ministries offered just for kids!
The nursery is open every Sunday morning to newborns, toddlers, and preschoolers (up to age 4). Dedicated, caring workers are in the nursery during the 9:30 a.m. worship service year-round. Age appropriate toys provide fun and hands on learning for your child. At 11:00 a.m., the Nursery is open to children age 1 and under.
From October through May, kids ages 3 thru 7 have a worship time all of their own. During the morning worship service, the children are dismissed to Children’s Church where they sing songs, hear Bible stories, and make crafts that tie in with the Bible story. Children’s Church leads right in to the Sunday School hour from 11:00 am-Noon.
Sunday School is held year-round for children from ages 2 on up through high school. For younger children, Bible truths are taught through crafts, music, and reading Scripture. Sunday School is held from 11:00 am-Noon each Sunday.
Wednesday nights from 6:15-8:00 from October thru March is Family Night at Leighton, which includes Pioneer Clubs.
